Hull Youth Justice Service will work with schools to raise awareness of the consequences of breaking the law and how involvement in crime can impact young people’s futures.  We aim to give young people the information they need in order to make positive choices in their life.

Our offer is to deliver presentations during assembly to reach a wide audience of pupils. We aim to assist young people in thinking before acting therefore reducing the risk of them making a choice that would lead them into getting into trouble with the police. This includes examples of offending and consequences, victim empathy and criminal law.

We will also deliver interventions to young people who are identified by the school as at risk of offending, in order to prevent involvement in anti-social behaviour and crime and prevent them from entering the formal criminal justice system. This can be offered from pupils’ year 8 upwards, in a small group setting. We have a range of programmes and interventions aimed at an age appropriate level which can be targeted towards raising awareness and reducing anti-social behaviour and further offending.
