I know how you are all feeling
Hi, I’m Aimee, a Headstart volunteer.
At the moment, quarantine seems to be getting harder and harder for some of us, including myself.
All I have wanted to do is cry because I’m not able to do the things scheduled for me like our GCSE’s. It killed me when they told us that, just like it did for a lot of young people.
It was my nephews’ 6th birthday the other day and when I saw how happy he was, laughing, I thought to myself, ‘I want to be happy like that.
To be none the wiser to what was happening in the world right now…’. We all want this situation to be over, to get back to how it was before COVID-19 and lockdown. It may not be as simple as that but there is, as we’ve all been told, always light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how far. I got told recently that it is good to have a cry, we all need to sometimes. We all deal with things differently, right.
There’s nothing we can do but talk to people who we care about, if you really need to you can talk to Headstart. The people who work at Headstart support anybody who needs it, they are amazing and super supportive. The team and volunteers have supported me through tough times and they will do the same for you.
Everything will be okay.
